Summary/Abstract: Starting from their own official histories, we have analysed the publishing activity of BFBS and UBS on Romanian soil. Its impact on the landscape of Romanian biblical printing is twofold. The bright side consisted of unanimously endorsed achievements, both in the editorial field and in traductological cooperation. Another aspect was its increasingly persistent proselytising, which it eventually boiled down to, and which finally embodied in an edition (Cornilescu) that violated all the initial principles of the movement.
