Summary/Abstract: The main purpose of our study is a specialized reading of nodal points in Christian ethics from the point of view of philosophical concepts. The analysis and evaluation of Christian ethics by modelling some primary theological ideas in classical philosophical constructions can bring important clarifications, both in terms of moral theology and philosophy in general. We proceeded to a brief analysis of two substantial nuclei of Christian ethics, the so-called pericope of the „Blessings” in the Sermon on the Mount (the Gospel of Matthew, chap. V), as well as the Apostle Paul's idea of freedom.I compared the pericope of the Blessings with the types of ethical imperatives in Kant and the significance of freedom in the Apostle Paul with the conceptions of freedom in Greek classical and early medieval philosophy. Our approach is original, and the main result is a new light of being on Christian ethics.
