Summary/Abstract: The paper presents the essence of marketing, which in health care may be regarded as a function supporting the management of a health care facility (including its staff) and one of the spheres which affects the quality of medical services (including patient service). The presentation − on the basis of literature – of the essence of reputation and the factors which create it, enabled to point out the role of staff (basing on the author’s formula of understanding) in building the health facility reputation – thanks to a communication with the patient. The conclusion presents actions which health care centre should avoid when taking action in order to create its reputation.
