Summary/Abstract: Taking into consideration every hospital as an entrepreneur (according to the judgement of the European Court of Justice) allows to use the term competitiveness and to search for resources that can help to develop a competitive advantage. The aim of the article is to show the importance of logistics as a competitiveness potential of Polish hospitals. The concept of competitive advantage and its determinants is presented in order to realize it – starting from the essence of competitiveness. Subsequently, attention has been focused on facing challenges of coordinated healthcare (to be implemented in Poland since 2018). In this context, the factors are identified that build the competitive potential of health care facility and the actions that hospitals take to rationalize processes. This enabled to prove that hospitals, by implementing logistics solutions, could increase their competitive advantage. This paper represents a theoretical approach.
