Prospects for management buyouts in the health sector in Poland

Summary/Abstract: Leveraged management buyouts (MBO) as a form of transfer of an undertaking by the management is an increasingly observed practice. The advantages of this method consist essentially in reducing agency costs, improving the rationality of decision making, strengthening the motivation of owner-managers to success, which ultimately leads to increase in value of the unit. The use of MBO is also connected with an opportunity to design a model market based on a number of entities on the supply side, which determines the efficiency of the market price mechanism.
