Summary/Abstract: The foundation of this complete and extensive research of antiquarian books trading does not address any aspect related to the economic branch, but the precious historical richness of an activity destined to survive throughout time. The objective of this article is to present the real situation of antique stores in Romania, especially the ones in Bucharest. I have categorised the research into two periods, 1990-2010 and 2011-2019, in order to pursue a closer examination of the market situation, and to understand the oscillating dynamism reflected by the transition from one era to another. The results show that the number of antique stores in Bucharest have surpassed the number from rural areas. At University Sqare, located in Bucharest, books swapping takes place, a practice that has recorded diversification over time. The current research has used online sources, other physical ones from personal library and various antique shops in Bucharest.
