Summary/Abstract: The novel The Iron Crosses is written by Cornel Dimovici, a Romanian writer, who lives in Germany and writes in German. It’s a war story with a hero who feels the weight of the war decorations. The novel treats the problem of human suffering during the war. The courage is perceived as laity, the facts are absurd situations and the decorations are heavy. The condition of human being is presented in extreme situations.
