Summary/Abstract: The contents included in the teaching processes are shaped in accordance with the learning outcomes, the definition of which is the first and basic step of curriculum planning. Taking into account the recommendations of the Council of the European Union, which define key competences as a combination of knowledge, skills and attitudes, their acquisition should include native and foreign languages, mathematics, informatics and technology, as well as natural sciences, social-humanistic, physical, health and artistic fields. Within the mentioned areas are acquired: literacy, expression and multilingualism, mathematical, digital, scientific competence, citizenship, cultural awareness and entrepreneurship competences, as well as personal and social competence. International research has generally shown a significant lack of basic skills, which is why investing in them has become more important than ever before. The aim of this paper is to draw attention to the need for transparent vertical and horizontal mobility of the educational system, which ensure an optimal combination of the aforementioned knowledge and skills. This can be achieved by attaching a certain number of points to each part of the curriculum, which would express the workload and provide insight into the structure and scope of the planned competencies.
