Summary/Abstract: This paper refers to the changes in the professional competence framework of educationists whose critical consideration and monitoring in the globalization times is inevitable. According to the precepts of the lifelong learning pedagogy, through the advancement of the personal professional development the competence is kept of giving support to the innovative tuition which calls for the use of communication and presentation skills, as well as of adequate motivation techniques. The acquisition and extension of competences along with the recognition of previously adopted knowledge and skills and the use of various techniques of estimate and self-estimate make possible the following: creation and implementation of educational programs and methods; the use of knowledge and skills about the styles of learning and teaching; implementation of modern technologies in the educational process; and continuous implementation of supervision over its procedures and outcomes.
