Summary/Abstract: Teaching is a complex activity that includes both teachers and students. If any of these two essential factors are left out, the teaching losses its educational activity. Traditional teaching is based on the teachers dominance of giving lectures as a primary way of transferring knowledge. If limited to study only from textbooks and frontal mode, students can not develop student skills such as critical thinking, problem solving and preparation for lifelong learning. As a respons to traditional way od teaching, comes modern forms of teaching that has improved the deficiencies of tradicional way of teaching and made the teaching process more qualitative. In modern forms of teaching the students acquire practical and conceptual knowledge, that is, the quality of learning and teaching in a quality school inspires students to systematically and actively learn. This paper seeks to contribute to research in teaching methodology but also to open new paths that lead to further study of this problem. The paper has two research instruments. One is scale of positions/attitudues for elementary school students, and the other one is a questionnaire for teachers of tecnical education in elementary schools in Sarajevo Canton. The aim of this research is to evaluate the extent to which teachers use different forms of teaching during the implementation of the teaching process and how much the application of the specific form of teaching affects the quality of the teaching progress. In this paper there will be talk about representation of various forms of teaching and how they influence modern teaching. The research has shown that sociological forms of teaching are the most common forms in teaching process today. In addition to sociological forms of teaching, the theory also lists other more active forms that can and should be applied in modern teaching. Since the teacher is the guide of teaching in one class and that he is the one who should show and point in the right direction, he is expected to make the teaching lessons by the proper selection and combination of the forms of teaching so that he makes the teaching process successful.
