Summary/Abstract: Information Technology in early grades of primary school is a quite discussed novelty nowadays. Some teachers, parents and the public believe that the new school subject is unnecessary because students already have too many subjects weekly and spend too much time using technology. There is also a matter of the qualifications and competence of primary school teachers for teaching this school subject. On the other hand, there are pioneers, creators, always ready for changes. They are those who are ready for the most important, permanent and the bravest changes on themselves. They are ready for the lifelong learning. Opinions of the both sides are important and their attitudes and arguments should be listened to, but at the end the most important ones are students. Students are those who are born and grow up in the digital age. In this sense, the role of teachers has now been completely changed. The teacher is no longer the source of information. Information is available to students only with one click. The teacher should help students to use the information in a correct way, to be able to differentiate essential information from the irrelevant one, to think critically, to be ready to solve the problems and tasks that are placed before them. Students feel comfortable with technology and therefore teachers will not teach students to use technology, but how to use it in a meaning ful way that will make students ready for the challenges of the 21st century. In this paper, we will, in the first place, present several innovative techniques that can be used in the classroom. By that, we do not mean only the IT classes, but also on all other school subjects in the classroom. The best model would be to keep a constant correlation of IT with other school subjects and use the possibility of going out of the frame for forty-five-minute classes. Furthermore, we will deal with the influence of technology in early years of education at higher educational institutions, that can assume new school subjects, new methodology of teaching in primary schools, new ways of organizing and implementing teaching.
