European Union Missions in the Eastern Partnership Region

Summary/Abstract: The European Union actively engages in crisis management and peace building efforts while promoting multilateralism and respect of democratic values. The CSDP provides the Union with operational capacity to deploy both civilian missions and military operations. The on-going ones regarding the Eastern Partnership region include EUAM Ukraine, EUMM Georgia, EUBAM Moldova and Ukraine, EUMAM Ukraine, EUM Armenia, EUPM Moldova. The article analyses the peculiarities, the legal and political aspects of EU missions in Eastern Partnership countries and their contribution to regional security.
