Summary/Abstract: The management of work motivation represents one of the pillars of the success of business entities as well as non-profit organizations. The paper deals with the issue of motivational tools used by managers at secondary schools in the Slovak Republic. Part of the article is dedicated to the consequences of insufficient motivation, which appear both in the field of work performance and in employee satisfaction. Several tools used in motivation and their impact on work performance are examined. The aim of the contribution is to evaluate the degree of influence of individual motivation tools on work performance and on the subjective satisfaction of employees in education. The paper uses the following methods: analysis, synthesis, induction, deduction, comparison, mathematicalstatistical methods, abstraction and case studies.
