Social capital in regional and local development

Summary/Abstract: Today we witness growing interest of economists in non-economic factors of economic growth and development. Its manifestation is, among other things, the popularity of the term of social capital. In the article the growing importance of this factor for development processes (and for regional development) was presented. There was made an attempt to give reason for interventionism within the scope of generation of this capital as well as there was presented exemplary actions on regional and local level.
