Summary/Abstract: In this research we propose an analysis of the comprehension processes presented by Jocelyne Giasson in La comprehension en lecture (1991/2011). The aim is to reconfigure the didactic design and the way of structuring the reading competence so as to respond to both the curricular model of personal growth and the communicative model. The resumption of ideas and their nuance was determined by the need for precision, coherence and consistency in carrying out an approach to understanding the literary and non-literary text.
