Behavior of Polish enterprises during economic slowdown in Poland

Summary/Abstract: The period of 2007-2009 was a big challenge for Polish companies especially small and medium ones. The effects of the financial crisis on real economy including the disappearance of confidence of economic stability as well as the decrease of domestic and foreign demand influenced functioning of companies. Firms have to exist in insecure and turbulent environment. The aim of the paper is to analyze and assess how companies behave during the economic slowdown in Poland. The author used different economic indicators such as: number of active companies, number of employed, incomes, investment expenditures, and indicators concerning the liquidity and level of costs.
