Summary/Abstract: Modern teaching methodology includes procedures, ways and steps in the teaching process based on the results of modern science, which are applied in teaching in order to increase effectiveness, easier, faster and more productive learning and teaching. The modern approach to teaching in the lower grades of primary school places the student at the center of the teaching process. By using different teaching methods and combining them, students want to develop independence and activity, the ability to acquire skills and the ability to come up with ideas and conclusions on their own. The choice and combination of teaching methods is influenced by the tasks of the subject, the student's environment, the age and prior knowledge of the student, the creativity of the teacher and the available resources. An activity-based approach to learning mostly enriches student learning to a great extent. By applying modern teaching methodology, by choosing methods that meet the requirements of modern teaching, the teacher gives instructions to students regarding their activities.
