Summary/Abstract: In modern teaching, an increasing importance has been given to group learning. Elimination of the shortcomings of traditional teaching emphasizes the positive development of students' social behavior. According to Matijević (2002), this social form eliminates the shortcomings of students' frontal learning and traditional teaching. By learning in a group, students socially mature and adapt, integrate into the structure of the group and become an integral part of it, which improves the intellectual and emotional development of students, develops independence and cooperation that contributes to student development towards the needs of modern society. Klippert (2001) points out that students without group work. The specificity of group learning comes to the fore when students try to solve a task together by developing ideas, when as individuals they are unsure of the final outcome and seek a solution in a joint discussion and analysis of ideas. Educational reforms in terms of the application of new, modern methods and strategies of teaching and learning require the professional development of teachers to initiate and apply collaborative and group learning. The aim of the research is to examine the effects of the application of group learning and its impact on the achievement of knowledge of primary school students. In this research, data of129 students were collected and processed, divided into two groups, experimental (64 students under the influence of group learning) and control (65 students under the influence of traditional teaching methods). In the processing, sorting and analysis of the obtained data, the method of theoretical and descriptive analysis and the program IBM SPSS 22.00 with the parameters average, t-test, standard deviation and correlation were used. The research revealed the effects of the application of group learning, a slight improvement in student achievement and the importance of creativity and professional education of teachers for the application of group learning as active learning. Examination of student achievement in both groups was performed before and after the experiment. The obtained results indicate that learning in a group does not have a significant impact on learning achievements, but that it increases students' cooperation and develops their abilities.
