Summary/Abstract: The documentary exhibition “And he inspired the hearts for a rebellion ”, dedicated to the 200 years of the birth of Dobri Chintulov – one of the most significant figures of the Bulgarian revival – a remarkable teacher and a pedagogue, an outstanding patriot, a prominent public figure and a fighter for church independence, an inspired rebellious poet and the progenitor of the new Bulgarian poetry was opened on October 18, 2022 in “Sava Dobroplodni ” Regional Library – Sliven.The exhibition is organized by “Sava Dobroplodni ” Regional Library in partnership with the Municipality of Sliven, the “St. St. Cyril and Methodius” National Library, “Petko Rachov Slaveykov ” Regional Library – Veliko Tarnovo, State Archives – Sliven, etc. With many photos, archival and documentary materials, periodicals and books, a large part of which are not shown in the original, the main stages of D. Chintulov‘s life and work are traced. A large part of the presented original documents are stored in the Historical Archive of the “St. Cyril and Methodius ” National Library – Sofia and in the State Archives – Sliven.
