Summary/Abstract: The institute and practice of lender of last resort has proven to be one of the key mechanisms in an effort to stabilize national financial systems and in the core of anti-crisis measures both in developed economies and emerging economies in the wake of the global financial crisis in 2008. This paper attempts to summarize the arguments for the creation of a global provider of last resort. The focus is on linking and cross cutting the arguments provided in the relevant studies after the first experiences and lessons of the crisis in 2008. Furthermore, we emphasize the need to analyze experience of emerging economies through their alternative modes to reduce exposure in the global financial system. Presented findings should serve the development of research activities in terms of producing clearer result of the need and possible design of global lender of last resort.
