THE EDUCATION IN NEOLIBERAL REALITY. INEFFICIENT. EXPENSIVE. NEEDLESS?

Summary/Abstract: The author of this article discusses the most important challenges for contemporary people. These challenges mark new functions for schools and teachers. The author pays attention to the neccessity of changes in functioning of institution of school. In spite of clear change of social reality, teachers want to transfer information from coursebooks to their pupil’s brains. Students in schools do not have a space for independence, making a mistake, fossicking. The institiution of school has only finished, unmistakable knowledge for pupils. The author opines that contemporary worker should know where he can find information and what he can do with this knowledge. Instead of learning “by heart”, the institution of schoold should lear how to solve various problems. Moreover, students should think independent and understand contemporary reality. The aim of the article is to show directions of school changes and challenges that come from them for the whole education system.
