Features of Pre-school Preparation of Hearing Impaired Children

Summary/Abstract: The experience in integration of hearing impaired children in kindergarten and pre-school are poorer than in schools. Many cases of integrated children with this disorder in school have been described, their difficulties, the specifics of their education and the approaches with which it is carried out, but the topic of readiness of children with hearing impairments is a more specific problem. This study was conducted in the context of a day care center for hearing impaired children, in which the education of children was carried out through general education materials, but in conjunction with the specifics required in the education of hearing impaired children – use of sign language, additional training in special textbooks for the development of speech used in the school for hearing impaired children. The end result of this type of activity is described in the study and aims to reach the level of hearing peers, which will ensure their unimpeded inclusion in the general education class.
