Summary/Abstract: The Covid-19 pandemic has put all of the humanity and especially the hard-working part of it to a test. It is especially interesting from a psychological point of view to determine which personality variables and in what way are related to the deterioration of professional life. Our study included the psychological variables fear of Covid-19 (with its three aspects), perceived stress, cynical hostility, resilience, locus of control, and examined their relationship to the quality of professional life in a pandemic and in particular its deterioration. Numerous statistically significant correlations were found, which showed that the deterioration of working life is most strongly associated with the level of perceived stress (r = 0.42; p = 0.00), cynical and hostile attitude towards others (r = 0, 42; p = 0.00) and the degree of resilience (r = -0.40; p = 0.00), which confirmed the hypotheses. The results of our research as well as those of other similar researchcan become a reliable basis for developing programs for a faster and more successful return to the normality of economic life.
