Summary/Abstract: The inhabitants of the former South–Eastern territories of the Second Polish Republic actively participate in organisations such as “borderland societies.” They initiate and coordinate many valuable activities, which are largely related to the preservation of the material and intangible cultural heritage of the Borderlands. The aim of the planned Centre for Research and Documentation of Cultural and Natural Heritage of the South–Eastern Borderlands of the Second Polish Republic would be to document this legacy, as well as conduct and integrate research on it. The cooperation in this area begins with the agreements signed by borderland organisations and the appointment of a working committee and the Borderland Centre operating at the Institute of Polish Thought.
