Summary/Abstract: The aim of the paper is to present the possibility of using oral texts (lectures) of popular science posted on the Internet on the website wszechnica.org.pl during classes on interpreting from Polish into Slovak. In the paper, we mainly deal with the lexical, syntactic and stylistic analysis of selected messages. The results of the research will allow to develop a set of exercises that can be used in the development of translation competences. The selection of material was determined by the fact that the texts posted on the website relate to various fields of science, which will not only enrich specialist vocabulary, but also help students observe the syntax and style of such texts.
