Summary/Abstract: The article concerns itself with a history of Polish Studies at Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica. The author introduces some earlier and present academic members of the university staff, discusses Polish Studies curricula, and promotes the most important achievements of the employees, their research and cultural activities as well as their cooperation with various educational and cultural institutions in Slovakia and abroad.
