FOSTER FAMILY SUPPORT IN THE CONTEXT OF FOSTER CARE IMPLEMENTATION

Summary/Abstract: The article attempts to outline the nature and importance of foster family support as a temporary environment for raising and educating children at risk. The need for socio-pedagogical and psychological support stems both from the statutory requirements and from the specific critical moments in the interaction in the "foster parents-foster child-biological parents" subsystem. Based on the opinions of experts from the social system and professional foster families, the research provides further arguments for the importance of team support involving state institutions and informal structures. On the one hand, the support ensures a smooth adaptation of the child in a foster environment and creates opportunities for adequate cooperation with him/her, on the other - professionally motivates the foster parents for their socially responsible role.
