Summary/Abstract: The aim of our article is to check the Ivan Hadjiiski’s methodology whether it is viable for building a new contemporary optimistic theory of our nation based on stable optimistic attitudes. To this end it is necessary for us first of all to disentangle the author’s analysis. Attempting to complete this task we faced with the question how to separate our methodological optics from the optics of Hadjiiski which we ascribe to him as a research-worker. In the end we conclude that it is acceptable to talk about „optimism“ only inside the borders outlined by our „expectation horizons“ on the area of our actions and intentions. That means to perform some kind of methodological transition from naпve to critical optimism.
