Everything and Nothing

Summary/Abstract: A reply to the questionnaire on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Teksty Drugie: my personal views on literature, literary studies and other issues of consequence. Literature is ‘nothing’ as it eludes any and all definite qualifications, and yet it is ‘everything’: the imperceptible and intangible, that which is not, affects and absorbs me absolutely; it opens me (at times, tears me apart, rips and sucks me out; then, there’s nothing left of me).
