A.P.T. - The 3 fundamentals of GDPR implementation in the healthcare field

Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article is to maintain attention on the 3 most important areas of action that must remain permanently active, when we respect the right to privacy and private life of patients when they use the medical services offered by data operators operating in the field of human health at all levels. These 3 fundaments are presented in the form of the acronym A.P.T. – Action. Perseverance. Traceability. 1 – Action – Permanently improved technical and organizational measures –technically at the level of the selection of solution and effective integration technically an increasingly demanding challenge by absorbing digitization in the management of the data operator's activity, including the spread of technology that uses artificial intelligence. 2 – Perseverance – Balanced, recurrent, and ongoing staff training and accountability, commensurate with the level of data access and decision-making component. 3 – Traceability – The processes that process sensitive data must be recorded conclusively and with a sense of responsibility, becoming visible in this way and the way in which the GDPR principles were understood and integrated by the staff in the activity carried out.
