Summary/Abstract: The article aims to present the figure of the prosecutor as a body that not only leads the investigation and supervises its lawful conduct, but also as an entity that participates directly in the performance of individual procedural actions, during the first-trial stage. Thus, he can take advantage of his procedural position to carry out actions that are initially typical of investigative bodies, but at his discretion he can also carry out himself. Therefore, in view of relevance and public interest, in relation to the considered type of procedural relations, some basic criminal procedural institutes, essential for the development of the pre-trial phase, and more specifically – in connection with the activity of conducting the criminal prosecution, will be examined in sequence.
