Summary/Abstract: Among the diplomats that Romania had during the first half of the 20th century, there was also Dimitrie Iurașcu, descending from a family of Moldovan boyars, with roots dating back to the 15th century. With a diplomatic activity recognized in Europe, Dimitrie Iurașcu was also concerned with the history of the countries neighboring Romania, during different historical periods. In 1939, he decided in 1939 to keep a diary, with almost daily records, which he would finish in 1950, putting down all his thoughts about the events that took place at the turn of the 20th century. From his personal archive, donated by his son, Niculae Iurașcu, to the History Museum of Galați, we will hereby analyze some moments from his vast diplomatic activity, that spread through almost 40 years.
