Summary/Abstract: The article presents selected achievements of Indo-European linguistics that have been made since the beginning of the 20th century up to the present, concentrating especially on the laryngeal theory, the reconstruction of the proto-language accent-ablaut paradigms, internal derivation and the Caland system. The author observes that there are no Polish scientific publications describing the current state of research and, as a consequence, most of the Polish publications that deal with the Proto-Indo-European era are based on outdated reconstructions.
