BIBLIOMETRIC ANALYSIS OF PUBLICATION ACTIVITY OF ACADEMIC STAFF IN THE DEPARTMENT OF LIBRARY SCIENCE, SCIENTIFIC INFORMATION AND CULTURAL POLICY, SOFIA UNIVERSITY „ST. KLIMENT OHRIDSKI”, 2020–2021

Summary/Abstract: Bibliometric analysis is an important and integral part of the research evaluation methodology applied in scientific fields in studying various aspects of science, as well as in ranking universities and other scientific institutions worldwide. The data for this study were retrieved from the Database of scientific activities of Sofia University „St. Kliment Ohridski“ – „The Authors“ and other information sources – online library catalogs, Web of Science, Scopus and other sources. Publications were analyzed by extracting author keywords and additional parameters such as authorship, type of publications and scientific fields. The results of the analysis show that 85 publications (some of them, in co-authorship) by 14 faculty members from the Department of Library Science, Scientific Information and Cultural Policy have been produced in the two-year period under consideration, with 36 publications in 2020 and 49 in 2021, which 16 are in Bulgarian for 2020 and 27 for 2021. There are 11 publications in English in 2020 and 7 in 2021.
