Summary/Abstract: The extreme expansion of digital technologies in the fields of services, medicine, art, sport, culture, etc. implies the acquisition of new knowledge and competences, opportunities for continuous qualification improvement, active learning, and direct connection with the expectations of the labour market and the emergence of new professions capable of meeting the transformations in society. The study presents the training offered in the specialisations of the Department of Library Science, Scientific Information and Cultural Policy in the context of the transformations occurring in society under the impact of the increasing digitalisation of every activity, which has long gone beyond the narrow understanding of information and communication technologies as priorities for the sphere of production and science. A comparative analysis of the competences and skills set out in the curriculum content of Bachelor's and Master's programmes is made with the European Classification of Skills, Competences, Qualifications and Occupations (ESCO) of the European Commission and the Student Practice Information System of Bulgarian Ministry of Education and Science.
