Summary/Abstract: The subject of the analysis is the increase in parents’ interest in home education after the pandemic. In this article I will explain the difference between alternative education and learning at home which are the consequences of a lockdown or hybrid education. I underline the con- ditions of the renaissance of proper home education in Poland and the Czech Republic. I indicate the current functions of home education in the context of its self-responsibility for the quality of education, which becomes a sine qua non condition for parents’ exceptional involvement and dedication to their own children.
