Assessment of frozen frame recording delay on the basis of vehicle power voltage

Summary/Abstract: Freeze frames are recorded at a changeable delay dependent on the system in which they were recorded, type of failure or vehicle operation parameters. This delay is sometimes difficult to assess, which makes it difficult for the reconstructionists to qualify the data from the frozen frame as useful in the process of event reconstruction. In the paper a method of assessing the recording delay of a frozen frame based on the vehicle power voltage is proposed.
