Summary/Abstract: The author of this paper thinks about the attitude of the Czech society to the capital punishment and the development of the views of this punishment. He also tries to find an answer to the question why still, in the 21th century, in the Central European, democratic country with Christian roots that The Czech Republic is, there are so many supporters of the reimposition of this absolute punishment when it was found, for example, with the discovery of the DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) applications, how many judicial murders were committed in the past in the world, including such a country like The United States of America are.
