Summary/Abstract: In order to verify at the same time the evolution of the lexicographical definitions in the bilingual dictionaries of the 19th century, and the possibility to transpose certain classes of representations evoking Romanian mentalities, we separated in the main dictionaries taken into account the definitional sequences to establish three lexico-semantic series: a series A which refers to the term devil, a series B which indicates the divine, and a series C which includes representations of the Romanian popular mythology. The bilingual lexicography which begins with J. A. Vaillant for the Romanian-French domain showed a considerable effort towards transposing these representations from a language into another, the difficulties still not being totally resolved in contemporary dictionaries.
