Summary/Abstract: The aim of the study was to determine migration preferences of Kielce students, resulting from their personal and professional plans. The analysis uses qualitative data from surveys conducted in 2023. The research sample consisted of a total of 200 students of the two largest universities in the city, i.e. the Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce and the Kielce University of Technology. The results of the survey became mainly the basis for carrying out a typology of the causes of spatial mobility of students by applying the Ward method. In consequence, four types of factors determining the migration of the academic youth, with a predominance of the economic vector, were described.
