Summary/Abstract: This research aims to examine classroom teachers' practices to increase student participation and the impact of these practices. The research was conducted through semi-structured interviews with 20 classroom teachers working in Adıyaman. Findings show that teachers generally use various strategies to increase student participation, such as the use of visual and audio materials, student-centered teaching approaches, in-class interaction and discussion environments. Additionally, it was determined that the biggest difficulties of teachers were low student motivation and time constraints. Teachers think that supports such as in-service training and mentoring programs can help them develop the skills needed to increase student engagement. In conclusion, this research contributes to our understanding of the strategies teachers use to increase student engagement and the challenges they face, and to develop more effective support and strategies in this area.
