The remarkable contribution of Archbishop and Metropolitan Bartolomeu Anania to the defense of the dignity of the Christian family - a foundational factor of the Romanian nation

Summary/Abstract: I chose one of the unique, deeply marked figures of the Cluj Orthodoxy, in the person of the Archbishop and Metropolitan Bartholomew, who imposed on posterity through his deeply Christian conscience, through his state of mind, alive, left to us as a spiritual testament: verticality, courage and morality in his vision of the world and of life. His sermons reveal his great pre- dilection for the current problems of the world we live in, such as: corruption, the spiritual crisis of the family and its cultivation, moral and spiritual pollution, the need for renewal or moral regeneration of the Romanian people, the indissoluble relationship between Church and people or osmosis between cult and culture. He speaks of the Wedding at the Cana of Galilee, where the Savior Christ blesses the family and where, at the request of the Mother of God, he performs the first miracle. Not by chance at His mother’s request, and not by chance at a wedding. He made a comparison between the perfect purity of the Mother of God and the icon of the Romanian people who love purity. The Mother of God saved the dignity of the family at the Wedding in Cana, and now, nowadays, Metropolitan Bartholomew urges us to save the dignity of the family from the alternative of neo-Marxist ideology, through the moral reform of the Romanian people, through ecological movements against pollution of the spirit, spirit of discernment, in short: maintaining the health of the soul, like the perfect purity of the Mother of God.
