The achievements of Polish authorial lexicography

Summary/Abstract: The article presents a general outline of the achievements of Polish authorial lexicography in terms of the genology of various literary works. It shows the main development trends and tendencies. We present preliminary statistical data concerning the number of those lexicographic works published in Poland that fall within this section of national dictionaries. The data are based on a bibliography of dictionaries, published between the years 1755–2022, that is currently being compiled by the present author. We have found out that in Poland, authorial (in other words: writer’s) lexicography is one of the less frequently practised types of dictionary writing.
