Summary/Abstract: Orientalist architecture is the second most frequently used term for architecture Bosnia under Habsburg rule. This symbolization of architecture as reflective of Orientalist identity politics has been a persistent feature of discourse on Bosnia, which generalized Bosnians as Others both when the style was established at the end of the 19th century to represent and mark out Europe's Others and during the period of mass destruction at the end of 20th century, when it reflected the “nesting Orientalisms” of the Balkans.
