Summary/Abstract: Using data from the studies by Geoffrey Macnab in the British Sight & Sound magazine in several issues of з 2009/10, I examine the website for auteur film, TheAuteurs.com and a number of endeavours for film distribution online (DocAlliancefilms.com as a result of the partnership between five festivals of documentary film; UbuWeb with free and easy access to avantgarde films; Jalipo). The motivation behind TheAuteurs is first of all an individual blending of affection for cinema and entrepreneurial spirit that would go together once in a blue moon. So, much more people around the world will have the chance to watch worthwhile movies. Those who have followed the development of film industry are aware of the patchwork of changing habits of watching movies, the all-embracing Web, digital revolution and the ever-increasing aspiration for individual experience of each encounter with art. Film distribution, the habits of the audiences and copyrights remain threatened. At least one of these or better all the three have to be reconsidered. I attach therein links of websites offering even better films online.
