Characteristics of the collage: Time aspects.

Summary/Abstract: The present analysis introduces a research on the characteristics of the collage and its time aspects in the artwork of two authors, who use the collage technique in a specific way. Part of their artworks is the subject of the study: on the one hand, an artwork of the already established Bulgarian artist Kalin Balev (Magic of the Stone exhibition, June 2010), on the other hand, one by Vulko Chobanov, a young, developing, brimming with innovative ideas and individual creative vision student at the Academy of Music, Dance and Fine Arts, Plovdiv. The material is formed as a result of the author’s practical research – interviews were taken in Sofia and Plovdiv searching to study different approaches in the expressive language of some particular authors, who work with collage technique. This is exactly the motivation of the public presentation of the collected material: to exhibit the point of view of some authors of different age, professional quests and development with fantastic ideas and bright creative expression, so as to build the bigger picture of contemporary Bulgarian art.
