A card from the history of the Jewish press for children and youth in the times and Galicia’s autonomy

Summary/Abstract: The article touches upon the issue of Jewish press for children and youth in the times of Galicia’s autonomy. Based on the available document sources, a list of magazines appearing in Galicia has been established. This list includes seven titles of the periodicals for children and youth. It was established that the main publishing centres were Krakow and Lviv, and the dominating language of the publications was Polish. The predominant ones were monthly magazines and publishings addressed to the youth, and amongst them the magazines of Zionistic and assimilation groups. The analysis convinces that the Jewish press for children and youth is a valuable source material and some of the titles should expect a more in-depth monographic elaborations.
