Tourism in the face of an aging society

Summary/Abstract: The goal of this article is to identify the specific characteristics of tourism of elderly people.The increasing number of elderly people in the population structure is not only a challenge for economic and social policies, but also a powerful new challenge for market of goods and services. Growing in its own mass the buyer power of the participants in this age group will increasingly affect the market of goods and services related to daily life and non-routine goods and services particularly in healthcare, catering and tourism. Moreover, the article analyses tourism activity in Poland. The basis of the study were statistics on torusit travel for people aged 65 and more.
