Summary/Abstract: Collective dismissal is an important issue of collective labour law because the content of this phrase puts in conjunction the way in which the social dialogue between the social partners of the collective labour relationship is carried out: employees' representatives and employers.Based on the international law, the national law gives a relatively generous space to the regulation of collective redundancies, which obviously must be analysed in relation to its source. The present study undoubtedly reveals, through the issues addressed, the system of employees’ protection in case of collective dismissal. Dismissal, an important institution of labour law, receives particular connotations when it becomes collective due to the economic and social impact of the termination of individual employment. Normally, the state is a serious social partner with a fundamental role in protecting and promoting the economic and social well-being of employees. The importance of the state is reflected in the plan of the collective relationship and in terms of collective dismissal, which is regulated in a protective perimeter for both employers, by identifying economic, technological, organizational solutions to continue the activity, but also for employees to whom the legislator provides means such as information and consultation, collective dismissal services, compensatory payments, etc., which tend to ensure a social balance in the employment relationship.
