Summary/Abstract: The resurgence of trust in horoscope predictions can be explained by the lack of scien tific knowledge, in the situation of the lack of personal and collective security. I believe that horo scope presentation is based on the principle “Gives generic information to be perceived as specific (Barnum Effect)” and that reliance on pseudoscientific descriptions of horoscopes (of whatever type) influences people to come to terms with the life they lead, not to revolt against the evils in society.
